LABORATORY OF ADVANCED MECHANICAL TECHNOLOGY

This laboratory is provided with equipment representing the best available traditional mechanical technology and its development in the near future. In addition to the Roeders 5-axis high speed milling machine, the innovative technology of additive manufacturing for metal powder is available. In a single area it is thus possible to have the most innovative solutions in the field of the manufacturing of mechanical parts and components. Additive manufacturing allows the manufacturing of parts – by means of additive technology - in any geometric shape from different types of steel, aluminium, titanium, Inconel and precious metal alloys with the following characteristics: material density close to 100%, hardness up to 54 HRC and mechanical properties almost identical to the original material. The manufactured parts are subsequently finished by the high speed milling machine or by means of other traditional methods leading to a significant time reduction and a wide choice of geometric shapes. The manufacturing cycle is completed by the analysis on the coordinate measuring machine and, if necessary, by the morphoscopic characterization of the structure by means of FE-SEM at Certema.
